Moving To AUM

It was my senior year of high school. The time to go came for me to choose where I was going to go to college. I had many choices in mind. I came to AUM as one of my "college tour days." When I got here I was so very nervous.
"Are you okay babydoll?" asked my mom.
"No! I am nervous and scared! This college thing is more than I thought it would be." I replied.
My mom and I walked into the admissions building. We found the lady we needed to talk to about getting information, and then our tour of campus began. The campus turned out to be not as big and scary as I had imagined. The campus size seemed to be similar to the size of the campus of the community college back home. My nerves settled, and I realized this is where I wanted to go.
Initially I was a nursing major, so during our tour we went and met the Pre-Nursing adviser. She turned out to be a really nice lady and answered all of the questions I had. This just added reasons to why I wanted to be a student at AUM.
I got back home and started to talk to my mom. I told her everything I thought about AUM. She told me what she thought as well. I thought about how the campus seemed to be small enough not to overwhelm me. I remembered that the Pre-Nursing adviser had said the classes were not very big at all, the way she made the class size sound they were not much bigger than my class in high school. Then I thought about distance. My mom has some health issues, and I can get to AUM in about an hour and a half; therefore, I knew I would not be that far away if something happened and my mom needed me. Taking everything into consideration, I knew I wanted to go to AUM for sure.
I got accepted to the college and to the Pre-Nursing program. I even received a scholarship to come to AUM.
Here I am now going to school at AUM. I still love it. Only one thing has changed for me, and that is my major. I swapped to a psychology major because one of the teachers here inspired me. The atmosphere on campus everyday makes me grateful for my decision to come to AUM.
