My first semester at college

My first semester of college has been a fun experience. It has been way different from high school. The classes have been really interesting. Some I liked better than others. I worked really hard on all of my work. Moving away from home was hard. However, I would not change the experience. I do not think I would change anything about my first semester at college. I have learned a lot. I know I have grown up a lot to. I know that I have to take full responsibility for my self. I also know that I can no longer run to my mom when I have a problem. I have to take care of myself. Of course I know my mom is a phone call away, but being at college means that I have to be more independent. I also have made so many new friends. I got into a sorority. I love it so much. This semester has been such a different yet exciting time. So much has happened. Good and bad things have gone on. I just can not believe how fast time has gone by. I can not believe this first semester is already pretty much over!

Weather and mood

I think my mood does get affected by the weather. When it is bright and sunny out, then I feel like jumping out of bed and getting things done. I am in an extremely happy mood. When it is rainy out, I do not feel like doing anything. I am not as happy as I would be if it was sunny out. In sunny weather, I like to do things. I am more cheery and out going. When it is rainy I am not as out going. When it is too hot, though, I get cranky and ill. I hate to be hot. When I am hot outside I tend to be more irritable. Cold weather does not make me happy either. It makes me want to stay inside bundled under the covers. When the weather out side is pleasant then I feel more pleasant. Therefore, I do think the weather does affect mood. I think the weather affects how people feel about doing things. Bad weather makes doing things less desirable than pretty weather does.

A Poem I wrote

She was pretty
And loved by all
Everyone thought she was perfect
No one ever saw
What was really going on
She always put up a front
Deep down she was hurting
Everything was going wrong
She thought no one could ever understand
She tried to cover up her tears
With all the make up she had
She put a smile on her face
To try to cover up how she was really feeling
Nothing she did made the hurt go away
Finally she had a friend
Who knew something was not right
And got the girl to confess
The truth
The friend told the girl
That she did not have to be perfect
That she could have real feelings to
This made the girl see
That she could start being true to herself
Now everyone knows she is not perfect

Finals are coming up and I am stressed to the max. I have so much to do and it seems like I will never get done. Papers are due. Tests are coming up. What am I going to do! I know deep down that I can do it. Just somethings seem so over whelming. College is so much different from high school. In college you do not have someone holding your hand and guiding your way like you do in high school. In college you have to step up and make sure everything is done because the teachers are not going to be hounding you about it. Procrastination is a big thing in college. It is not a good thing but it happens. In high school you have the set schedule everyday with the same classes everyday. At college it is not like that. Nothing gets said to you about missing class at college like it does at high school. In college if you do not show up for a certain number of classes then the teacher just fails you. I really do like college though. It is a big change from high school. I feel like more of an adult in college. I know there are more responsibilities, but I think I can handle it. Now I am just hoping I can make it through these finals. If I can finish all this homework and study to make well on my finals, then I will be really happy!

If you knew you had the right person, would you marry them today?
No, I am only 18 and a freshman in college. I am not ready for such a big step as marriage. I figured that out after being engaged my senior year of high school. I need to grow up some more, and experience a few more things before I get married.

What does the last text in your inbox say and who’s it from?
"Sad day :("-Big Red. I am moving from North Commons to West Courtyards this week. He says it's sad because I will not be around to hang out on the second floor anymore. I just will not be over in the lobby as much.

Were you born in the 90's?
Yes! 1991 to be exact!

Does anyone call you babe?
Yeah. Some of my friends do.

Is the last person that you had a conversation with a male or a female?
Male. It was Big Red actually. We were talking about me moving to West Courtyards.

Where were you at 9 AM this morning?
Sleeping! I did not go to bed until about four this morning. I needed my sleep.

Have you ever liked someone who all your friends hate?
Of course I have. At the time I did not realize why they hated him. Now that I can look back at everything, the reasons are quite clear.

What were you doing at 11 this morning?
Sleeping. I know it is quite sad. I was being lazy. I got up at 12:30.

Name people you wish you could fix things with?
I think I am pretty good with everyone. I can not really think of anyone I need to fix things with. I am good about apologizing about my wrong doings.

When you're getting ready for something, do you listen to music?
Oh yes. I love music. It helps to soothe me, but it also helps me get pumped up!

Are you a mean person?
I am quite the opposite. I tend to be too nice. Mean does not run in my blood. I can not seem to be a mean person.

How many arguments have you had with the last person you talked to?
Quite a few. Usually it is over stupid stuff. We stay mad at each other for a couple of days, if that, and then we are fine like nothing happened. We can not seem to stop being friends.

Waiting for something?
Oh yes! Christmas break. I think everyone is waiting for that too.

Do you feel like anyone is playing mind games with you right now?
I sure do not. If they are, then they are very good at keeping it covered.

Have you ever thought you liked someone and then found out you really didn't?
I sure have. It was sad too. Because they liked me too, and when I found out I really did not like them in that way I felt really bad. I do not like hurting people's feelings.

Are you going to get hurt anytime soon?
Is that even a real question. How am I supposed to know. I mean I am quite clumsy. I trip and stuff a whole lot. I probably get hurt on accident sometime. It is pretty inevitable for me.

Anybody tell you they miss you lately?
My mother. She tells me that everyday now that I moved out.

Yeah. I have a difficult time being mean to anyone whether I like them or not.

My momma. I talk to her everyday. Usually more than once a day.

How's your heart lately?
It is beating and pumping blood like it is supposed to. Therefore, I think it is in perfect condition.

Who can always cheer you up?
I have my select group of people. This includes my momma, my friends, and my Delta Zeta sisters.

What was the last movie you watched?
I know it was a Lifetime movie. I can not recall the title right now though.

Is there anyone you know that deserves to get slapped?
I am sure there are plenty of people that do.

I think I am about equal. I am a really happy person.

Big Red. We were talking about our Greek stuff.

Usually I do. Sometimes this comes back to bite me though.

Yeah there is. Because I know the messages always brighten my day.

The right ones are. I just have not found the right one that is.

Yes it is. At least it is for me. I am single now and very happy.

My momma. I miss not being able to just run in her room and talk to her.

Last night. I was at the Delta Zeta Christmas party!

Break and the fact I am getting to get things rolling in my social chairman position I have in the Delta Zeta sorority!

My television. i have no idea what is on. I just know I left it on.

Yeah, but I am excited for now too.

The Florida vs Alabama Game

As a Florida Gators fan I was devastated about the game! I know both teams played their hearts out, and they gave all they had. I wanted Florida to win so bad. They are a great team, and I thought they could do it just like they did last year. Florida tried their hardest, I know they did. Tim Tebow lead them, and worked his hardest to get the victory. I guess it was just not their game. I know both teams are really good at what they do. I do not think the game was about which team is better, because obviously both teams are great because they were both undefeated up until this point. The game will be one for the history books I am sure.

The only thing that really makes me mad about the whole game situation, is the fact that all of these people are giving Tim Tebow junk for crying. Well let me see, it was his last championship game of his college career. He put everything he had into this game. Maybe he feel like his hard work was just not good enough. I do not blame him for crying. If Alabama would have lost, there would have been players from that team crying. I know there would have! I have seen big ole' high school football players cry because they lost a play off game. It is not because they are sissies or wimps, it is because they played their heart out. They gave their all, but they lost the game. I really think everyone needs to stop giving Tebow grief about crying. It's not a joke, and it is not funny.
