Right before I moved up here, I was driving a 2002 Ford Focus. That was NOT my favorite car. It had a lot of issues. When I was getting ready to move, my parents decided to give me my mom's explorer, and my mom would take my focus. I guess that I got the better end of the stick.
The explorer is a 1995 model. Its big and it is blue. Therefore I call it "Big Blue." The special thing about this explorer is not the color, but the bumper. The bumper looks like an elephant sat on it. The reason for the bent bumper is actually a funny story. Two weeks after I got my permit, my mom, brother, and I were coming back from town (I was driving of course), and this glass company truck is in front of me. On the back of this truck are a couple of ladders. The ladders do not look like they are very secure on the back of this truck. Sure enough one of the ladders falls off the truck. My mom yelled at me to slam on brakes, and so I did. This prevented the ladder from going through my wind shield. We were stopped for about a few seconds, and then all of a sudden BAM! I got rear-ended! The damage was not bad enough for anyone to worry with, so the bumper just got left alone.
The explorer is a sturdy SUV though. It has four-wheel drive. I really do not mind driving it. Of course it was a big change going from a pretty small focus to a bigger explorer. I get noticed a lot because once someone sees my car they will always be able to spot it out everywhere.
Like I said, I do not mind driving the explorer. I would love to have a different car, though, but who does not. Big Blue is a good vehicle though. I could not ditch it very easily. If it was not for Big Blue, I do not know how I would have been able to move all of my stuff up here in one trip! Big Blue has been there since day one of my driving, and I will always love that car.
