My big!

Last night, I got some of the greatest news ever. Before I say what it is let me give you some background.

I am in the Delta Zeta sorority here at AUM. I am currently a baby turtle but I will be an official DZ after my initiation test and ceremony(which the test is today at 5 but that is a WHOLE other story). Back in September we went on a new member retreat so all of the baby turtles could have a chance to get to really know the older DZs. This was a chance so we could decide who we wanted to write on our top five list to be our bigs. A big is a big sister basically. So then we had to turn our lists in and the waiting began.

Last night was our ceremony. Before the ceremony I knew who I really wanted to be my big and that was a girl named Rodna. We instantly clicked and I just love her! Well before the ceremony a few of us baby turtles went out to eat. I was texting Rodna and she tells me she is in Selma (where she lives). My heart dropped. Tears were developing and it took all I had to hold them back. I told the girls I was with and they were telling me that Rodna was tricking me. I told them I knew Rodna would not lie to me that she is serious. Well it was time for the reveal. We had to follow our yarn to the end. So I go through this maze of yarn. I get to the end of my yarn ball before anyone else. I see my basket and I see that the card says for me to read it first. I open it up and all I saw was Rodna's name! Words could not describe how happy I was. The card instructed me to yell her name when I got to my basket and so I did. Rodna runs down the stairs screaming and gives me the biggest hug ever! I thought she was about to cry!! I was the happiest person in the world. So I go with her and I go through my basket and there is so much! I have 3 stuffed turtles and just a whole lot! Also in my basket was Rodna's yarn ball that she had when she did big/little reveal last year. She passed it on to me! That really touched me. It might not mean much to others but it did to me. She told me if I get a little next year that I should pass my yarn ball down to her. That is what I plan to do.

Finding out that Rodna was my big last night was some of the best news ever!
